Air BnB in Goostrey

We were approached by a family who wanted to fulfil their dream of operating an Airbnb property. They had scoured the local area looking for suitable properties but nothing quite matched their existing location, and that’s when they came across Olympian Garden Buildings.

The contemporary lines of our cedar clad garden rooms really caught their eye and they began to envision an alternative option for their Airbnb dream.

Using one of our bespoke Contemporary Garden Rooms, they would be able create their perfect building in the grounds of their own garden, and at a fraction of the cost of buying a separate property.

The requirements for their build were for a stand-alone, self-contained building, incorporating a living room complete with sink and food preparation area, and a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

The brief was straightforward, the plot was not!

The space designated for the building was an angular, odd-shaped area of the garden on the banks of a stream. An idyllic spot but a difficult project in the wrong hands. This is where working with the expert team at Olympian comes into its own.

We were able to utilise our vast experience to create a completely custom design around the unusually shaped garden, a building that not only met all aspects of the brief but one that would also be an attractive feature on their property too.

A bespoke shape, the completed building has an overall size of 7.5m x 4.5m which was partitioned internally to create the three separate rooms required.

The main living area is a bright, spacious room featuring a large landscape window, 2.4m wide bi-fold doors which open out onto the landscaped garden and seating area, and a single door used as the main entrance.

Internal oak glazed doors lead to the double bedroom which includes a full-length portrait window, allowing for views over the surrounding countryside plus an additional high level transom window.

Sliding doors lead from the bedroom to the en-suite with basin and WC. Another transom window ensures this small but perfectly formed room has lots of natural light.

The external windows and doors are anthracite grey which creates a stunning contrast to the rich cedar wood cladding.

The project was meticulously planned by the team at Olympian, coordinating our installation teams alongside longstanding contractors for the required plumbing and electrical works.

Much like you would with a new build house, we worked with our customers to plan the layout of the lights and electrical sockets, including positioning of the external downlights which illuminate the building at night. All internal rooms are finished to a high specification plastered finish with skirting, and completed with our standard Quick Step Impressive Ultra laminate flooring.

This was an exciting to project to work on as we thrive on finding solutions and delivering a finished product that exceeds our customers’ expectations. The final result is a stunning addition to their property, and the best part is they can now start reaping the rewards of their investment as they run it as an Airbnb.
